Secret menus. 2026.08.19 5th Visit, Pure Homelike Comfort, and Our Menu Challenge Continues Whenever the question "What should we have for dinner tonight?" comes up, Komatsu has effortlessly become our natural, go-to destination. This marked our 5th time coming back, and at this point, dining here feels like second nature. The atmosphere is so warm, familiar, and genuinely relaxing that if we put on Netflix, we might actually mistake it for our own living room! 🥢📺 The Mission: Conquering the Entire Menu We are still proudly keeping up our personal challenge to try every single item on the menu. Best Japanese Hamburger Steak in Los Angeles I am at a loss to include enough superlatives to describe the sheer pleasure derived from eating the hamburger steak combo at Komatsu. It is topped with an amazing demi glaze which is topped with grilled onions. The flavor is sublime and a genorous portion of meat is presented. Along side the steak comes white rice, crunchy cabbage, some pickled small vegetables and a cup of miso soup. The service is quick and courteous. The restaurant interior is humble, and japanese decor domimates. I believe the cook may be the owner. They have very good tempura as well.

Quiet simple Japanese restaurant serving comfort foods. The star of the show is the Hamburg Steak. Tender, juicy, and the sauce! So good. I drive down from North LA to try this place. 😋

I had a chance to try their hamburg steak and it was beyond describable. The beef was extremely tender and well-seasoned. The demi-glaze tastes like a jacked up bull-dog sauce. The menu is short and sweet. They don’t even have appetizers on the menu, entrees only. This place is definitely a hidden gem. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.

This place is great it you come at the right time. They open and close on random days.. Recommended dishes: - Mixed baby scallop and shrimp tempura bowl -Black pork cutlet with starchy egg bowl -Hamburg steak w/ demi glace sauce combo -Fried Oysters The meal set comes with miso soup and pickled veggies.
